Russian Banya

Russian Banya

Aquapark is one of the first health and wellness centres with a Russian sauna. A visit to the Russian banya is a true ritual and an exceptional way to relax. Its warming and healing properties help with stress and fatigue. It is a place of cleansing for the body and soul. Aside from its purely hygienic function it is also a place to meet friends and acquaintances - bathing alongside relaxation. The contemporary custom requires a weekly visit to your favourite banya at the same time for a chat with old friends. A traditional Russian banya can be found beside lakes or rivers where it is combined with bathing in cold water. They are most frequently found in a wooden building fitted with a wood-fired heater. Stones are heated there and subsequently water is poured over them. The body is hit with birch, oak or eucalyptus twigs after leaving the banya and is cooled with cold water. The healing and health properties of the Russian banya are invaluable. Warmth and cold are applied alternately, strengthening the body and increasing its natural resistance. It also has a beneficial effect on circulation and the respiratory system.

Relaxation in the banya removes nerve tension, sleeplessness and over-sensitivity and provides respite after physical exertion or a hard day, allowing you to quickly regenerate your energy.

The banya is also recommended for people who are susceptible to regular colds, are experiencing muscle, arm, leg and joint pain, those suffering from allergies and people suffering from long-term stress; regular use lowers blood pressure, helps detox the body and assists with weight loss therapy.
